The Institute for Justice is proud to introduce the Torchbearer Scholarship, a $10,000 award to a qualified 2L candidate who demonstrates:
- Commitment to changing the world through public interest litigation
- Dedication to the larger freedom movement
- Ability to be a catalyst for change
- Intellectual rigor
- Financial hardship or need
IJ engages in strategic constitutional litigation and its attorneys regularly appear before the highest courts in the nation. We litigate to secure greater protection for economic liberty, school choice, private property, and freedom of speech. IJ law clerks do real, substantive legal work on cutting-edge constitutional cases.
If you are a 2L and would like to apply for the Torchbearer Scholarship to fund your summer at IJ headquarters, please apply to the Clerk/Intern Coordinator, Institute for Justice, 901 N. Glebe Rd., #900, Arlington, VA 22203, training@ij.org, and include:
- A cover letter (detailing your interest in IJ)
- Resume
- Writing sample
- Short personal statement (250 words)
- Contact information for three references
